Fleabite 05:13
I will get us out of this mess At the end of the day, life's a test Just trust me once; I promise you won't regret There's nothing to lose when you're virtually dead You drone on and on about what's next I'll have none of it, no thanks You drone on and on about what's next I've had none of it, no thanks We told ourselves a lie That we'd choose to live and not standby But it's no different than a fucking pigsty You get to be the mince in the pie Oh, the systems are awash Still, with hindsight, you proceed to rush Left upon your skin like a fleabite All the land is ours, red, green and lush Oh, the systems are awash From the moment you start, talk, kick your crutch Left upon your skin like a horn-fly All the land is ours, red, green and lush

God Help Me 04:51
God help me; nothing surprises me anymore The lunatics have taken over the state Don't keep me here, or I'll be late I read the news today It's a wonder I pay. A computer has won the Nobel prize It charmed us all with its disguise The universe, wrapped in a nutshell "Fifty Shades" has outsold Orwell. God help me; nothing surprises me anymore Clocks go backwards, and years pass by But they're all the same to my eye Clocks go backwards; years pass by But they're all the same to my eye Clocks go backwards. Years pass by But they're all the same to my eye Clocks go backwards; years pass by But they're all the same to my eye Clocks go backwards, and years pass by But they're all the same to my eye Clocks go backwards; years pass by Clocks go backwards. Years pass by But they're all the same to my eye Clocks go backwards; years pass by But they're all the same to my eye Clocks go backwards; years pass by But they're all the same to my eye Clocks go backwards. Years pass by But they're all the same to my eye Clocks go backwards, years pass by But they're all the same to my eye.

The gift that keeps on giving It turns sour, and I don't think we're winning This game that we play all night We went far, but it all ends now It's vain to Endure it all up to now Crushed thorax, Coming undone You pay all our debts in one But where's the fun Reins and the bootstraps will pull us up When the reigns and the term times are done And we're better than what we've become Better for them, but we're not ours I'll wait for your orders and desires I'll man up when time comes, and I'm tired But no one can hear my pleas forward No one can do anything Reins and the bootstraps will pull us up When the reigns and the term times are done And we're better than what we've become Better for them, but we're not ours Reins and the bootstraps will mould us now When purpose and thought have died down And we're better than what we'll become Better for them, but we're not ours

The Preacher 03:41
I'm the son of a preacher who cares for all our lives And the choir he preaches must always be on time But he'll come around and ask them for the limelight And to cover all the dirt with flower and cloth We can try a whirlwind and not get flung up We can get close and pray to a million stars Say we're always conned and always falling out But I know deep down it'll be he who falls into the wine Caving to my demons over nought Turn it over and make it all stop. Heading on a flight, heading on the top Turn around, and you're taking off your mask Robes and crosses alight. Holding up the cup But I know that I'll get stuck But I know I'll get up and walk away from the lot So hold your line Hold your line I'm the son of a crescent moon, bright, broken in light And she shines on a derelict church where sits a wildfire The creaking of the boards sets up a funeral pyre But I won't care much; to care is up to the next buyer But I won't care much; to care is up to the next buyer

"It seemed that out of battle I escaped Down some profound dull tunnel long since scooped Through granites which titanic wars had groined Yet also there encumbered sleepers groaned Too fast in thought or death to be bestirred Then as I probed them one sprang up and stared With piteous recognition in fixed eyes Lifting distressful hands as if to bless And by his smile I knew that sullen hall By his dead smile I knew we stood in Hell With a thousand fears that vision's face was grained; Yet no blood reached there from the upper ground And no guns thumped or down the flues made moan "Strange friend" I said "here is no cause to mourn" "None" said that other "save the undone years The hopelessness Whatever hope is yours Was my life also; I went hunting wild After the wildest beauty in the world Which lies not calm in eyes or braided hair But mocks the steady running of the hour And if it grieves grieves richlier than here For by my glee might many men have laughed And of my weeping something had been left Which must die now I mean the truth untold The pity of war the pity war distilled Now men will go content with what we spoiled Or discontent boil bloody and be spilled They will be swift with swiftness of the tigress None will break ranks though nations trek from progress Courage was mine and I had mystery; Wisdom was mine and I had mastery: To miss the march of this retreating world Into vain citadels that are not walled Then when much blood had clogged their chariot-wheels I would go up and wash them from sweet wells Even with truths that lie too deep for taint I would have poured my spirit without stint But not through wounds; not on the cess of war Foreheads of men have bled where no wounds were "I am the enemy you killed my friend I knew you in this dark: for so you frowned Yesterday through me as you jabbed and killed I parried; but my hands were loath and cold Let us sleep now...." God Help Me features lyrics contributed by Tobias Raynes.

Ö. Kızıltaş would like to thank the band and all the people who worked on the album; his parents, from Cyprus and Turkey; and his teacher, Anjelika Akbar, for expanding his understanding of musical boundaries from Armenia to the Himalayas. And for this effort, in particular, a special thanks to Sam for adding and subtracting on both those fronts to a standard of his own making.

S. D. Shepherd would like to give thanks to his parents, in particular his father, for his unending patience and advice throughout the long gestation of this album; to Tobias Raynes for his help and advice for many years; to Abigail Chetham for listening over the early mixes and providing feedback; and to Darren Willison for his help and advice on the visual side of things, and his long-standing artistic encouragement. Furthermore, he would like to thank Freddie Krone for tolerating all his musical eccentricities, and for pushing him into new musical territory. Finally, to Oz for making all of this possible.
